Hello,
We have two exciting events planned at YNiC next week and would love for
you to join us.
*YNiC Seminar: **Tuesday June 2nd at 11:30am*
*Dr Anna Matejko: Are Maths and Reading Difficulties Related to One
Another? Unpacking the Relationship Using Brain and Behaviour*
In this talk Dr Anna Matejko will discuss evidence that uses multiple
approaches - including brain imaging, behaviour, and intervention - to shed
light on the relationship between math and reading difficulties.
*Celebrating Collaboration in Neuroscience: **Wednesday June 3rd at 2pm*
Join us for a series of short talks, interactive discussions, and the
opportunity to connect with peers and potential collaborators. Come along
to spark fresh ideas, start new conversations - and enjoy some coffee and
cake!

Revolutionising Neuroscience
Dear all,
BRAIN would like to invite you to our symposium 'From Lab to Life: How
Technology is Revolutionising Neuroscience'.
The focus of the event is on the wider impacts of neuroscience research on
society, spanning technological advances to clinical translation. For this,
we have invited a whole range of external ECR speakers whose work focus on
various aspects of neurodegenerative and neurological disorders.
Date & Time: Thursday 4th June 2026, 13:00-17:00
Location: B/B/006
Please find more information here, including about our speakers:

Meta has released a model that predicts brain activation for visual and
auditory inputs, and language. The trained model is available to download.

I'd love to chat with anyone about how they could use this in their
research. I feel it could be very helpful for hypothesis generation -- and
maybe for some kinds of projects, rather than a real replication, you could
do a "virtual replication" :)
Cheers
Beth
Hello,
Please see below for this week's updates.
🧠* YNiC Seminar - Tuesday at 11:30am*
All staff and students are welcome to join our YNiC Seminar tomorrow, *Darren
Millward* will be presenting a talk titled '*Oscillatory Dynamics of
Reading and Arithmetic: Evidence from OPM-MEG*'. We hope to see you there,
but if you are unable to attend in person, you can catch the seminar on zoom

If you are aware of any new students/staff that will require access to
YNiC and/or
an IT account, they must attend a YNiC user induction. This includes
students who wish to attend the Data Analysis in Neuroimaging Course
starting this semester. The next monthly induction will be on *Tuesday the
5th of May, at 10:00am*. Please ask them to contact support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk to
sign up.
*🗓️ **Level 0 operator training*
