The “Cognitive Neuropsychiatry” working group at the Department of General Psychiatry, University of Heidelberg, Germany offers a half-time**PhD-position in the field of neuropsychology and functional neuroimaging. The project is funded by the German Research Council (DFG) and will investigate neural network correlates of verbal auditory hallucinations (“hearing voices”) in patients with schizophrenia. A special focus is set on detailed phenomenology combined with neuropsychology and multimodal network characterization using fMRI.

The successful candidate is highly motivated, shows a strong interest in psychiatric neuroscience and neuroimaging and holds a diploma/master in psychology, biology, neuroscience, or an equivalent field. Ideally, the applicant has relevant prior knowledge of functional and/or structural neuroimaging methods (e.g. fMRI data acquisition, processing and analysis) and is familiar with at least one MRI data analysis software package. Experience with basic statistical software packages is a requirement, and prior experience in experimental psychology and additional programming skills (e.g. Matlab) are advantageous. As direct study participant contact is an integral part of the research project, an excellent command of the German language is required.

The position is available from *November 2013* onwards for 3 years. Salary is according to German federal regulations (TV-L 13/2).**Reviewing of applications will start immediately, and applications will be considered until the position has been filled.
