We are currently recruiting a MEG Clinical Associate to join our team.
MEG (magnetoencephalography) is the most advanced brain imaging
technique for assessing online brain functions and providing information
on where and when processing occurs in the brain.
As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging department, the MEG Clinical
Associate is responsible for neuroimaging assessments and the
development of new applications with MEG that will be clinically
relevant in broadening the scope of prognostic and diagnostic measures.
Working collaboratively in an inter-professional team, this role will
support clinical paediatric functional brain imaging and MEG
applications in clinical areas.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:
Clinical
Stay updated in advanced scientific knowledge of MEG principles,
theories and concepts.
Apply knowledge to both design and interpretation to promote MEG
studies.
Facilitate and aid ongoing clinical applications utilizing MEG.
Facilitate with ongoing functional neuroimaging techniques such as
MRI & TMS.
Design, conduct and analyse own MEG studies, and obtain external
funding for studies within two years of recruitment.
Analyze the complex MEG data that require evaluation of multiple
variables and alternative, novel analytic tools, including source
localization and reconstruction, oscillatory brain activity, functional
connectivity, and techniques for investigation of resting-state and
task-dependent network connectivity and related functional neuroimaging.
Data Management
Maintain high international standards for studies that enhance
applications of MEG.
Maintain high standards for patient care and contribute to the
long-term strategic clinical goals of Department and Hospital.
Remain current on relevant scientific developments and liaises with
clinical staff to keep them abreast of the latest innovations for MEG.
Education and Research:
Teach MEG applications and interpretation in-house and functional
neuroimaging techniques.
Provide supervision and mentoring to students, fellows and MEG lab
personnel.
Publication of techniques and technique development as well as
publications on more focused clinical and psychological applications.
Facilitate new collaborative MEG research within the clinical
community at SickKids, the University of Toronto and the University of
Toronto Hospitals.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
PhD in Neurosciences, Psychology or related field is required.
Advanced technical skills for MEG programming skills for modifying
analysis software, familiarity with computational and statistical
methods for neuroimaging, knowledge of MEG analyses of neural
oscillations, source localization/reconstruction and functional
connectivity in task-depended and resting state networks.
Previous experience with MEG recording and analyses (3-5yrs) is
required.
Experience with clinical population, in particular TBI patients.
Experience in statistical analyses and signal processing.
Psychophysics of cognitive/systems neuroscience is expected, with a
strong interest and competence in the psychological aspects of TBI and
other disorders.
Other functional neuroimaging experience would be an asset.
Excellent analytical and problem recognition skills.
Excellent decision making and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The Child Mind Institute (CMI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to
transforming mental health care for children everywhere. We are
committed to finding more effective treatments for childhood psychiatric
and learning disorders, building the science of healthy brain
development, and empowering families with help, hope and answers.
JOB SUMMARY
CMI is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow interested in the study of human
brain function and the characterization of brain development and
maturation in clinical and non-clinical populations. Overarching goals
of our work include: 1) the delineation of psychiatric illness in terms
of neuroscience, 2) the identification of objective imaging-,
phenotypic- and genetic-based markers of pathology, which will
eventually serve to facilitate the detection of psychiatric illness
and/or guide clinicians in the selection of treatments and determination
of treatment response, 3) exploration of the impact and utility of
emerging intervention techniques (e.g., tDCS/tACS, TMS). Fellows will be
expected to take a multidisciplinary approach to their work, drawing
from a broad range of disciplines (e.g., clinical psychology, cognitive
neuroscience, computer science, engineering, mathematics,
neuropsychology). In order to facilitate this process, they will work as
part of a multidisciplinary team, integrating findings obtained from a
variety of imaging approaches including: resting state functional MRI,
tDCS/tACS, TMS, simultaneous EEG/fMRI, diffusion tensor imaging,
cortical thickness, and volumetrics.
This position reports to Dr. Michael Milham, Director of the Center for
the Developing Brain. This is an exempt, full-time position located in
our NYC headquarters office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work to identify objective markers of pathology in human brain
function, development and maturation using a combination of imaging and
stimulation approaches
• Work in a multidisciplinary environment, drawing from a broad range of
disciplines and imaging approaches
QUALIFICATIONS
• Completed PhD in biomedical engineering, computer science, cognitive
neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, clinical psychology, mathematics,
neuropsychology or related fields
• Significant prior neuroimaging experience with one or more imaging
modalities (fMRI, DTI, MRI, EEG, MEG)
• Strong skills in the usage of one or more common functional
neuroimaging packages (e.g., AFNI, FSL, or SPM)
• Programming experience in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C/C++,
Matlab or similar platforms is required). The candidate must be willing
to develop expertise in Python during the first year of the fellowship.
• Significant prior neuroimaging experience with one or more stimulation
modalities (tDCS, tACS, TMS) is a plus, but not required

Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) is a private law Foundation,
created with the objective of promoting Italy's technological
development and higher education in science and technology. Research at
IIT is interdisciplinary and addresses basic and applied science through
the development of novel technical applications.
We are looking for a highly motivated post doc to join the Functional
Neuroimaging lab at the Center for Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences
(CNCS) @UNITN in Rovereto, Italy, one of the research nodes set up by
IIT. The CNCS is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to the
investigation of the brain at multiple scales.
The functional neuroimaging lab is equipped with a state-of–the-art 7
Tesla MRI scanner for preclinical research, and is devoted to the use of
functional MRI methods to map large-scale neural systems of the mouse
brain. The overall aim of this project is to apply fMRI readouts to
spatially resolve the neural substrate modulated by pro-social compounds
and to relate them to the endogenous function of target neuromodulatory
systems using opto/chemogenetic approaches.
The ideal candidate has a PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, Pharmacology or
a related discipline. Previous experience in rodent behavioural
readouts, immunohistochemical techniques as well as basic knowledge of
computer coding are highly recommended.
We value scientists who can interact effectively with an
interdisciplinary team, have a high level of independence and take
accountability for their project. Successful applicants should also be
willing to learn a variety of complementary techniques through
secondments at other IIT research nodes (Pisa, and Genova).

development and validation of segmentation methods for brain
