*Postdoctoral fellow, Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada*
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children, affiliated with the University of Toronto. The role of the successful applicant will be to develop novel MEG analysis techniques and apply them to data collected from children with focal epilepsy. The goals of this research will be to determine if mapping MEG connectivity dynamics can localize epileptogenic cortex (brain areas that start seizures), and to investigate how functional networks are altered in childhood epilepsy and related to cognitive difficulties in this group.
Candidates should hold a PhD in neuroscience, physics, engineering, psychology or a related field. Prior neuroimaging experience using MEG and/or MRI is required.Strong data analysis skills, and/or prior neuroimaging experience with clinical or child populations would be an asset.
The Hospital for Sick Children offers an excellent training environment with strong expertise in clinical neuroscience, developmental cognitive neuroscience, and neuroimaging.MEG studies have been completed in over 1000 children with epilepsy at our institution, and include interictal recordings and data from numerous functional localization paradigms (auditory, visual, language). Neuropsychological, clinical, electrocortocographic and MRI data are also available, presenting an excellent training opportunity in clinical neuroimaging. This Postdoctoral position is available for a two-year period, with the possibility of extension for a third year. The successful applicant will conduct research primarily under the supervision of Dr. Sam M Doesburg.
Please send all applications, including and CV and covering letter to seetha.sriharan@sickkids.ca
