Post-Doctoral Position
A two-year post-doctoral position is open at the Neuroscience Center of University of Helsinki (Finland) in a project exploring the functional roles of cortical oscillations with M/EEG. The applicant will acquire M/EEG, MRI, and possibly fMRI data and perform M/EEG time series and source localization analyses within a state-of-the-art neuroinformatics platform. The main focus of the project is in the mapping and network analyses of within- and cross-frequency neuronal interactions in source-reconstructed M/EEG data (Palva et al., 2010, PNAS, NeuroImage) with published and novel approaches.
The successful applicant has experience in planning and performing MEG/EEG experiments and in applying advanced data-analysis methods. The applicant should also have a track record in human neuroimaging literature. Applications are invited from ambitious, enthusiastic, and highly committed young researchers.
Prerequisites include: Prior experience in the MEG/EEG field and PhD or an equivalent degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Medical Engineering, or another related field. Programming skills (Matlab, LabVIEW) are an advantage.
The application for the position should contain a 1-2 page letter of intent, CV, list of publications, and the names of at least two senior researchers who can recommend the applicant. Inquiries and applications should be sent by email to Satu Palva (satu.palva@helsinki.fi mailto:satu.palva@helsinki.fi).
