The Department of Experimental Psychology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is looking to fill the position of a Post-Doc Research Assistant. Regular working hours will be (currently 39.8 hours per week) with a limited contract of 2 years. This position should be filled by 01.10.2014. Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L.
The lab studies the behavioral and neural mechanisms of processing of unconscious visual stimuli and masked priming and uses psychophysical (RT, Eye-Movements), physiological (EEG, fMRI, tDCS), and phenomenological approaches to better understand these mechanisms.
*Your Duties*
* The successful candidate will have the opportunity to perform basic research and will be intimately involved in all aspects of data collection, analyses, and the publication of results. * Administrative duties including supervising student coworkers, maintaining protocols, subject recruitment and scheduling, and record keeping related to active studies will also be required. * The project focusses on physiological approaches to visual masking.
*Your profile*
* You hold a highly qualified PhD in Psychology. * Excellent programming experience (e.g., Matlab, Presentation) and statistical software like R. * Publications on psychophysiological studies of visual processes (EEG, fMRI). * Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Proficiency in English. * Knowledge of and interest in the visual system, visual cognition, neuroanatomy, and statistics.
