The School of Psychology at Cardiff University is currently advertising
up to four new appointments at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. While
we will consider applicants with a strong research background or strong
research potential in any area of Psychology, we are especially
interested in receiving applications in the following areas:
(i) Cognitive and/or behavioural neuroscience research relevant to
cognitive development and/or decline.
(Ii) Research into behaviour change, particularly in the context of
environmental and/or health psychology/neuroscience.
We are one of the largest psychology departments in the UK, allowing
us to offer well-resourced teaching and research opportunities in all
areas of psychology, from neuroscience and brain imaging to social and
developmental psychology, encompassing both basic science and applied
aspects. Our teaching was judged to be 'Excellent' in the Teaching
Quality Assessment, and we were top of our subject table in 'research
power' in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), continuing from
the highest possible rating, 5*, in both previous assessments (1996,
2001). We were recently ranked 40th in the 2014 QS World University
Rankings. The School has an Athena SWAN Bronze Award that recognises
good employment practice and a commitment to develop the careers of
women working in science.
