The School of Psychology at Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Behavioural Statistics and Psychology who will (a) coordinate the teaching of quantitative methods within the School at all levels (undergraduate, Masters, PhD) and (b) contribute to research within the School through the applicant's own research programme in statistics and/or the application of advanced statistical methods to enhance existing research efforts in the School.
We are one of the largest psychology departments in the UK, allowing us to offer well-resourced teaching and research opportunities in all areas of psychology, from neuroscience and brain imaging to social and developmental psychology, encompassing both basic science and applied aspects. Our teaching was judged to be 'Excellent' in the Teaching Quality Assessment, and we were top of our subject table in 'research power' in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), continuing from the highest possible rating, 5*, in both previous assessments (1996, 2001). We were recently ranked 40th in the 2014 QS World University Rankings. The School has an Athena SWAN Bronze Award that recognises good employment practice and a commitment to develop the careers of women working in science.
