The School of Psychology at Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Behavioural Statistics and Psychology
who will (a) coordinate the teaching of quantitative methods within the
School at all levels (undergraduate, Masters, PhD) and (b) contribute to
research within the School through the applicant's own research
programme in statistics and/or the application of advanced statistical
methods to enhance existing research efforts in the School.
We are one of the largest psychology departments in the UK, allowing
us to offer well-resourced teaching and research opportunities in all
areas of psychology, from neuroscience and brain imaging to social and
developmental psychology, encompassing both basic science and applied
aspects. Our teaching was judged to be 'Excellent' in the Teaching
Quality Assessment, and we were top of our subject table in 'research
power' in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), continuing from
the highest possible rating, 5*, in both previous assessments (1996,
2001). We were recently ranked 40th in the 2014 QS World University
Rankings. The School has an Athena SWAN Bronze Award that recognises
good employment practice and a commitment to develop the careers of
women working in science.
