Dear users,
Last year the University centralised all Matlab licenses at York and registered them to IT Services. The initial contract offered all Matlab toolboxes for a one year trial period. This trial period concludes in April.
IT Services are now reviewing the contract for Matlab and will only be licensing a limited selection of toolboxes based on user feedback. We would therefore like to collect usage information from users at YNiC.
If you are using Matlab at YNiC and use *any* toolboxes please send details of your requirements to it-support@ynic.york.ac.uk, subject 'Matlab toolboxes'. We will collect all the responses and forward a summary to IT Services detailing our requirements.
Please send your responses by Wednesday 11th March at the latest.
Many thanks, Paul.
-------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Matlab licence renewal and toolbox requirements: action required Date: Thu, 26 Feb 2015 12:17:21 +0000 From: Joanne Casey joanne.casey@york.ac.uk To: dcos dcos-group@york.ac.uk
Dear DCOs,
This message is sent on behalf of Sarah Butcher, our Software Licensing Co-ordinator. Please send any responses to itsupport@york.ac.uk mailto:itsupport@york.ac.uk. Our Matlab site licence is due for renewal in April. The site licence negotiated last year included all available Matlab toolboxes on a trial basis. Matlab is now offering us a standard configuration of Matlab with a number of selected toolboxes included in the licence. We will, of course, have the option to purchase additional toolboxes if required.
To help us identify the correct requirements for the University, please consult with Matlab users in your department as soon as possible to confirm which toolboxes are essential to your department and send this information toitsupport@york.ac.uk mailto:itsupport@york.ac.ukno later than Friday 13 March.
You can find a list of the toolboxes currently provided with our license, including details of current usage levels, at:

Best wishes,
