We have now upgraded the projection screen material in MRI and this will
be the default screen in the scanner moving forward.
Many of the existing projects that use "lower-level" calibration
routines or are dependent on the use of the polarizer HAVE ALREADY BEEN
USING THIS "NEW" SCREEN MATERIAL. Note that the "old" screens are still
available for use by existing projects that have already acquired data -
just remember that these screens will no longer be pre-loaded into the
scanner by default and you will need to load them yourselves.
As usual, if you have any queries, please drop me a line.

Hello all,
Here is an opportunity for a PhD studentship at Cardiff.
I was wondering whether you could pass on the following PhD studentship
information to any good students you know who are interested in pursuing a
PhD using neuroimaging techniques?
Thanks!
Elisabeth

Dear all,
1) The Deputy VC & Provost, Professor Saul Tendler, will be visiting
YNiC between 09:30 and 10:30 on Thursday the 20th of April. Please feel
free to join us here at the center and showcase your research.
2) The Siemens scanner is now use and a couple of projects are being
used to finalize our data acquisition and processing streams, as well as
develop our training program. As such we are on schedule to meet our
target date to start using the scanner routinely.
3) Reminder: the open-plan area at YNiC will be open for use next week
(w/c 10 April) but that no user support will be available as the team
will be working on consolidating a number of outstanding issues and
internal development projects.
4) Housekeeping: Although we want you to feel "at home" when you're here
at YNiC, please be professional. Specific examples this week include (1)
always wear shoes when you're in the center (don't walk around in bare
feet or socks) and (2) do not use the clinical patient preparations
areas (especially the one on the MRI corridor) as communal kitchens.
