Hello,
Please see details below regarding upcoming inductions, training sessions,
this week's COGS session and planned scanner downtime.
*YNiC User Inductions*
If you are aware of any new students/staff that will require access
to YNiC and/or an IT account, they must attend a YNiC user induction. Our
next induction will be on *Tuesday the 5th of November, at 10:00am*. Please
ask them to contact support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk to sign up.
*Level 0 operator training*The next L0 training session will be held
on *Wednesday
the 6th of November, 13:00-15:00.* Please note that users requesting Level
0 training should be a PhD, RA/Postdoc, or staff, and should already have a
project proposal submitted to YNiC. Please email support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk if
you have any questions or wish to book on to this session. Please note that
sessions are limited to 4 trainees, which will be allocated on a first-come
first-served basis.
*COGS: Wednesday, 11am at YNiC*
This week's COGS session will be from myself, where we will discuss *"Brain
stimulation at YNiC: a guide for complete beginners"* looking at the
equipment we have at YNiC and how you could use it. Please join us at YNiC
for the session, all staff and students are very welcome. If you are
interested in leading a COGS session or giving a Seminar talk, please get
in touch (jennifer.ashton(a)york.ac.uk). You can see the full YNiC events
schedule here:
www.ynic.york.ac.uk/events.
*Planned Scanner Maintenance*
The MRI scanner will be unavailable between the 15th and 17th (inclusive)
of October, while we have some essential maintenance completed. There will
be no disruption to user support, MEG, access to open plan or the remote
desktop.
*YNiC Drop-In - Wednesday afternoons*
On Wednesday afternoons, there will be a YNiC research tech (or two)
working out in open plan. If you are struggling with something, or would
prefer to ask for help in person, this would be the perfect time to come
and work over in YNiC, have a chat and get some help :)
(This is in addition to our usual support ticketing system, and of course
you can come and knock on the office door at any time!)
Have a great week!
Many thanks,
Jennifer
