Hi all

We have quite a few things going on this week that we'd like you to be aware of:

Presentations and Inductions:
  1. We have two project presentations this Thursday, starting from 2:30pm in YNiC open plan. The first will be given by Adam Turnbull, and the second by Nerissa Ho.

  2. We will be running a YNiC user induction this Wednesday 27th at 10am - if you are aware of anyone that needs to be inducted, please ask them to contact us to sign up (support@ynic.york.ac.uk).

  3. There is a seminar in Biology room K018 on Friday 1st at 1pm, as part of the Biomedical Sciences seminar series, by Prof Rob Lucas (University of Manchester) entitled "Vision Beyond Rods and Cones", which may be of interest to a number of YNiC users (https://www.york.ac.uk/biology/news-events/seminars/infection-immunity/spring-19-rob-lucas/)

Closures:
  1. YNiC will be closed from 3:45pm this Thursday 28th, after the project presentations, in order for staff and YNiC users to attend the YBRI Neuroscience Social (Register at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ybri-social-neuroscience-theme-tickets-54695969116  Password: YBRI2019)

  2. YNiC will be closed from 27th to 29th March, in order for a number of building and maintenance works to be carried out.

  3. Open Plan will be closed for teaching this Friday between 12 and 4pm.

Scanner Bookings:
  1. Both GE and Siemens scanners will be used for Masters projects from the end of April.  The slots restricted to these projects have been marked on the booking system, and can only be booked for these projects.

  2. Other restricted slots that occur in March will be released a week before the scan date, in the event that they are not booked by the restricting group.  Please note that we have also added some additional operator covered slots in Siemens on Mondays, for those weeks where the scanner is heavily restricted.

Hope you have a good week,
Lauren
