Dear all,

We have identified an issue with the latest X2Go remote desktop client
which prevents people from connecting to their remote sessions.

To work around this issue, you will need to use a specific version of
the client rather than the latest one.  We have updated the wiki page
with details for new users
(https://www.ynic.york.ac.uk/docs/ITPages/RemoteDesktop)

For existing users, you can check which version of the X2Go client you have by going to Help
-> About X2Go Client.  The version number will be listed there as
4.x.y.z.  If you do not have 4.1.2.0 or 4.1.2.1, please follow the
re-install instructions below.

  * On Windows, find "Add or Remove Programs" in System settings, find
"X2go Client for Windows" and choose Uninstall

  * On Mac, right click on the X2goClient application and "Move to Trash"

Now re-install the correct version.  For Windows, this is 4.1.2.0 and
for Mac this is 4.1.2.1.  We have included direct links below, but you
can also navigate to https://code.x2go.org/releases and then find the
correct version from there.  If using a Mac, please ensure to get the
right version for your Mac OS version.
