2 Research Associate positions are available in the Developmental Imaging and Biophysics, UCL Institute of Child Health (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/ich/research-ich/imaging-and-biophysics). These post will be under the supervision of Dr. David Carmichael (https://iris.ucl.ac.uk/iris/browse/profile?upi=DWCAR66 ) and use existing close collaborative links to Great Ormond Street Hospital (Dr Owen Arthurs) the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging, ‘the FIL’ (Prof. Nikolaus Weiskopf) and Dept. Medical Physics (Dr Karin Shmueli) amongst others. These non-clinical post are focussed on the development and application of new advanced MRI techniques (EEG-fMRI, advanced diffusion imaging methods, susceptibility mapping and quantitative structural imaging) and their translation into the clinical arena with a specific emphasis on imaging for pre-surgical evaluation of children with epilepsyand for MRI post mortem. The post holder will have access to excellent research facilities with a new Siemens Prisma (3T, 80mT/m gradients and 64 channel receive coil) and a Siemens Avanto MRI scanners with dedicated and funded research time. In addition we have a prospective motion correction camera (www.kineticor.com <http://www.kineticor.com>) that allows for real-time motion correction, an important aspect of this project.
