Hello,
Please see details below regarding upcoming inductions, training sessions and
this week's YNiC COGS session.
*YNiC User Inductions*
If you are aware of any new students/staff that will require access
to YNiC and/or an IT account, they must attend a YNiC user induction. Our
next induction will be on *Tuesday the 3rd of December, at 10:00am*. Please
ask them to contact support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk to sign up.
*Level 0 operator training*The next L0 training session will be held
on *Wednesday
the 4th of December, 13:00-15:00.* Please note that users requesting Level
0 training should be a PhD, RA/Postdoc, or staff, and should already have a
project proposal submitted to YNiC. Please email support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk if
you have any questions or wish to book on to this session. Please note that
sessions are limited to 4 trainees, which will be allocated on a first-come
first-served basis.
*COGS: Wednesday (6th), 11am at YNiC*
This week's COGS session will be led by *Ramaya Balakrishnan,*
discussing *"What
are connectivity gradients and how can they be used to understand cognitive
problems after stroke?"*. Please join us at YNiC for the session, all staff
and students are very welcome.
If you are interested in leading a COGS session or giving a Seminar talk,
please get in touch (jennifer.ashton(a)york.ac.uk). You can see the full YNiC
events schedule here:
www.ynic.york.ac.uk/events.
*YNiC Drop-In - Wednesday afternoons*
On Wednesday afternoons, there will be a YNiC research tech (or two)
working out in open plan. If you are struggling with something, or would
prefer to ask for help in person, this would be the perfect time to come
and work over in YNiC, have a chat and get some help :)
(This is in addition to our usual support ticketing system, and of course
you can come and knock on the office door at any time!)
*Open Plan Availability*
Teaching will be carried out in open plan throughout Friday. You can still
access the computers, but space may be limited.
Have a great week!
Many thanks,
Jennifer
