*Research Fellowship (Verification and clinical validation of a 3-D finite element model of the cochlea)* University of Athens, Greece Applications are invited to fill one open EU-funded Research Fellow position in the Audiology Laboratory at the 1st Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Athens Medical School, Greece. The applicant will participate in the SIFEM project (http://sifem.ubitech.eu/) aiming at the clinical validation of a 3-D finite element model of the cochlea. The position is available on 1st of May for an initial period of 6 months, with the prospect of continuation until April 2015. Candidates are expected to have a BSc in Audiological Science or a related field and ideally have an MSc or PhD in a related discipline. Candidates with background in audiology research are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be involved in the validation and verification of a 3D finite element geometrical model of the cochlea by using otoacoustic emissions and psychoacoustic tuning curves. Experience with psychoacoustic testing is desired, but not required for candidates with strong audiology background. Programming skills (MATLab) are desirable. The Research Fellow will be expected to work 3.5 days per week in the laboratory and clinic and will be expected to participate in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching (1-2 hours per week). Salary is expected to range between 24,000 - 30,000 Euros per annum based on experience. It is also one of the Cochlear Implant Centres in Athens.
