Coffee & Cake for YNiC Researchers 🎂☕
Everyone is invited over to YNiC this Tuesday (23rd of September, from 10:30am) to enjoy a coffee and piece of cake. This will be a very informal chance to catch-up with other YNiC researchers, and a perfect opportunity for new staff and students to meet our neuroscience community. 🎂☕ Our first YNiC Seminar of the semester will follow at 11:30am, so please hang around for that too!
YNiC Seminar - Tuesday at 11:30am (YNiC)
YNiC seminars are scheduled for Tuesdays at 11:30am fortnightly. Our first seminar will be this Tuesday (23rd of September) and we have a speaker from the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology, Professor Zhihong Huang, who will be speaking about her work using Focused Ultrasound Stimulation (FUS).
Departmental Seminar - Wednesday at 1pm (PS/B020)
This week
Dr Nick Souter, will be visiting the department on
Wednesday 24th to deliver the
lunchtime seminar at
13:00–14:00. The title of Nick’s talk is
How to Reduce the Carbon Footprint of Your Research Computing. Nick will be using examples from neuroimaging and discussing what can be done to reduce your personal research computing footprint, so it will be relevant to staff and students alike.

YNiC User Inductions
If you are aware of any new students/staff that will require access to
YNiC and/or an IT account, they must attend a
YNiC user induction. The next monthly induction will be on
Tuesday the 7th of October, at 10:00am. Please ask them to contact
support@ynic.york.ac.uk to sign up.
Level 0 operator training
MRI Level 0 Training: Tuesday the 7th of October, 13:00-15:00.
MEG Level 0 Training: Wednesday the 8th of October, 13:00-15:00.
Please
note that users requesting Level 0 training should be a PhD,
RA/Postdoc, or staff, and should already have a project proposal
submitted to
YNiC. Please email
support@ynic.york.ac.uk if you have any questions or wish to book on to
this session. Please note that sessions are limited to 4 trainees, which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
