Hi all,

Your weekly update of YNiC goings-on:

Easter Closures
YNiC will be closed to users 6-10th April inclusive. The YNiC computing systems will be offline to undergo patching during this time, so the YNiC remote desktops will not be available on Thursday the 6th of April.

New toolbox for YNiC MEG data
MEG data generated at YNiC can now be analysed using the MNE-python toolbox. For instructions on loading YNiC MEG data, visit the YNiC wiki, here:
https://wiki.pages.ynic.york.ac.uk/MEG/MNE-Python/analysis_using_MNE.html

A tool to convert YNiC MEG data into the more common fif format is also available, instructions here:

YNiC User Inductions
If you are aware of any new students/staff that will require access to YNiC and/or an IT account, they must attend a YNiC user induction. Our next induction will be on Thursday the 30th of March, at 10:00.  Please ask them to contact support@ynic.york.ac.uk to sign up.

Level 0 operator training
The next L0 training session will be held on Wednesday the 5th of April, 13:00-15:00.  Please note that users requesting Level 0 training should be a PhD, RA/Postdoc, or staff, and should already have a project proposal submitted to YNiC.  Please email support@ynic.york.ac.uk if you have any questions or wish to book on to this session. Please note that sessions are limited to 4 trainees, which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Training must be booked at least a week before the session date, in order to reserve the scanner booking.

YNiC Seminars
Our monthly YNiC seminar series continue on Thursday the 6th of April with a talk from Dr Tirso Gonzalez. This talk will be held at YNiC at 4pm and over zoom. Refreshments will be provided for those attending in person.
If you would like to speak at a YNIC seminar, or would like to suggest someone, please let us know by replying to this email or support@ynic.ac.uk

Cheers,

Rich
