FYI ------------------------- Three post-doc positions are now available in our group. KIND is a competence center for research, development and education within the area of developmental psychopathology. The center is established in collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm County Council aiming at improving generating high-end basic research, clinical practice, and spread new knowledge to stakeholders. 1) Postdoc in developmental neuroimaging: The post-doc fellow will be responsible for the neuroimaging part within a project investigating infants with high risk for Autism Spectrum Disorders. This work is funded by the EU AIMS consortium (http://www.eu-aims.eu/#). Functional MRI (activation with auditory stimuli and resting state), as well as myelination assessments are planned, both at 4 and 36 months. 2) Postdoc in cognitive neuroimaging - longitudinal design: The post-doc fellow will be mainly responsible for the longitudinal neuroimaging assessments within a project investigating twins discordant for Autism Spectrum Disorders. This project is funded by the EU AIMS consortium (http://www.eu-aims.eu). Functional (diffusion, resting-state), as well as structural MRI are planned. The position implies to be involved in the administrative and technical set-up of this follow-up. 3) Engineer/Postdoc in MR spectroscopic imaging: The post-doc fellow or the engineer will be responsible for the MR spectroscopic imaging part within a project investigating twins discordant for Autism Spectrum Disorders. MRSI-1H MR spectroscopic imaging will be used as a complementary method to resting-state-functional, diffusion and structural MRI. The MRSI part will include the metabolic map reconstruction software development or adaptation of available packages. The MRSI quantification will be based on LCmodel while post processing: metabolic map reconstruction, should be re-designed. Main responsibilities will be maintenance of lab fMRI scripts and analysis, fMRI scanning, library research and data analysis, assistance with grant and manuscript preparation, and project management. The scope of responsibilities is broad and may also include subject recruitment, subject assessment using neuropsychological and cognitive neuroscience methods, protocol scoring for assessment sessions, and supervision of undergraduate volunteers as required. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Attention Group, headed by Dr Mark Stokes. You will be working on a project investigating the brain mechanisms that mediate selective inhibition for perception and working memory. The post is funded for 3 years and is based at the Oxford Centre for Human Brain activity (http://www.ohba.ox.ac.uk/) in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. You will be using a multimethodological approach, combining behavioural measures with electrophysiological (MEG, EEG and TMS) and hemodynamic brain-imaging (fMRI) methods. You will have a PhD in a relevant discipline with strong background in cognitive neuroscience research on attention and working memory. Experience with MEG or fMRI is essential as is experience in programming psychological tasks. Experience of TMS would be an advantage. Matlab versions

Hi, We've added Matlab 7.14 (R2012a) to the YNiC systems. The default has not yet changed and remains 7.12 (R2011a). Details of the supported versions are at: https://www.ynic.york.ac.uk/doc/ITPages/FAQ/Misc/SupportedVersions#Matlab Can people please test the new Matlab version as we'll change the default in September unless any major issues are found. We have removed Matlab 7.10 (R2010a) as per the upgrade timetable. (This has not been the default version for over a year). Dear Users Today (starting 4.30 pm in YNiC open plan) there will be a project proposal presentation by Giuliana Mazzoni, University of Hull, about "Imaging Autobiographical Memory (ABM)" Abstract: After a brief overview of what we know about ABM, in the talk I will cover two new sets of findings that can change the current view of ABM. One refers to the dissociation between remembering an autobiographical event and believing the event happened. The second refers to a superior form of autobiographical memory called Hyperthymesia. Implications of these new findings and potential developments using brain imaging techniques will be explored. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served afterwards.
