Dear all,
Hope you're looking forward to the Christmas Party!
The festivities will begin on Thursday at 7:15 pm. The bar will be open and
your first drink is on the house! We'll also be giving out raffle tickets
for a free prize draw!
We'll sit down for dinner around 8-8:15pm. I've attached your menu choices
to this email. Be sure to remind yourself of what you ordered as you'll be
expected to remember when the food is brought around.
After dinner, there will be a disco at the hotel until midnight.
If you're unsure of where the Churchill Hotel is, here's the link on Google
Maps:

The hotel mentioned that taxi companies are often busy around this time of
year. Therefore, they advise that if you know what time you will be leaving,
it's a good idea to book a taxi in advance.
All you need to bring is money for extra drinks/a taxi home (optional),
yourself, and lots of festive cheer!
Christmas wishes,
Emma

NIH-funded, full-time, and starts in April 2013 (though later dates are
possible). The initial contract will be for 1 year but can be renewed
for up to three years. The successful candidate will have a strong
background and publication record in cognitive neuroscience, and
research interests that closely overlap with those of the lab.
Programming skills and expertise in fMRI are prerequisites; experience
with TMS and computational modeling are desirable. For inquiries and
applications (CV, research interest statement, and contact information
for three references), please email Tobias Egner at

Hi everyone,
With the upcoming project circus on Thursday, I think that it would be a
good idea to reschedule the next MEG research group meeting to
*Thursday, 13th at 12.00 in C003*. Andrew Quinn will tell us about his
progress on/source space simulations and its application to beamforming
and connectivity./
Hope to see you all on Thursday next week.

Society in Science – The Branco Weiss Fellowship is a unique
postdoctoral programme. It provides young researchers around the world
with a generous personal research grant, giving them the freedom to work
on whatever topic they choose anywhere in the world, for a maximum
duration of five years.
This research fellowship is designed to support postdoctoral researchers
after their PhD and before their first faculty appointment. Those in
current postdoctoral positions are also eligible. It is expected that
fellows pursue unconventional projects in new areas of science,
engineering and social science fields involving societal aspects.
The Society in Science fellowship program was initiated and financed by
the Swiss entrepreneur Dr. Branco Weiss, who passed away in October
2010. The program belongs to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology
Zurich (ETH).
Candidates that present an unusual research project that departs from
the mainstream and that have a remarkable track record will be
short-listed and could emerge from the annual selection process with an
award for the prestigious grant.
Simply apply with a groundbreaking research idea to secure financial
support for up to five years, working at an academic institution of your
choice anywhere in the world.
