The Advanced Pediatric Brain Imaging Research Laboratory in Diagnostic Imaging& Radiology has openings for 3 positions. The goal of our laboratory is to study normal development, and the causes and consequences of early life brain injury in the high-risk fetus and newborn infant. The current research in the laboratory includes development of novel MRI pulse sequences and advanced image analysis techniques to develop early and reliable biomarkers of injury to the developing brain.Facilities include a 16-node computational cluster running linux, each equipped with multicore CPUs and GPU capabilities. We also have access to four MRI scanners two at 1.5T and two at 3.0T.
1- MRI Clinical Research Coordinator
Position Summary: The MRI Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) position requires significant prior experience in MRI clinical research and image processing. The individual will be responsible for the overall coordination of large or complex clinical MRI research projects activities and will perform a variety of MRI research related duties including MRI database set up and maintenance, MR imaging processing, and provide administrative/clerical support of clinical trials in an effort to assist investigators in organizing, gathering and compiling clinical MRI research data. This CRC will also be responsible for working closely with clinical researchers, and biomedical engineers to maintain optimal function of the laboratory; assisting with the development of MRI computational techniques, applying existing brain imaging software to analyze MRI data, supporting end-users with implementation of image processing pipelines, assisting with performing MRI research studies at Children’s National Medical center and other collaborating centers; managing the input, storage, and organization of large quantitative MRI datasets. The position may support multiple investigators or studies.
Qualifications: Knowledge in MRI clinical research; previous experience with MR image processing, competence in programming C/C++, Python, OpenGL, JAVA, VRML operating systems; Windows; Linux; Matlab, able to manage multiple responsibilities and activities with close attention to detail, effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals.

2- Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Advanced Pediatric Brain Imaging Research Laboratory in Diagnostic Imaging& Radiology has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate position. The research project will focus on in-vivo fetal brain MR image acquisition and analysis of non-invasive perfusion imaging such as Arterial Spin Labelling (ASL) and Blood Oxygen Level Dependence (BOLD).
Qualifications:
Extensive theoretical and practical background in perfusion MRI and/or fMRI is required. Knowledge in software programming using C/C++, MATLAB, and GPU computing is also required. Candidates must have a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science and/or Applied Physics/Mathematics. Experience in medical image processing research is preferred. The Division of Movement Disorders (Director: Tanya Simuni, MD) in the Department of Neurology, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago, IL USA, has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral position to study imaging-related biomarkers in Parkinson’s Disease. The candidate will be mentored by Dr. Todd Parrish (Director of Neuroimaging, Department of Radiology) and will work closely with Dr. Darren Gitelman (Neurology).
The position is funded for a 2 year time period. The aim is to use both structural and functional MR imaging to characterize measures of Parkinson’s disease diagnosis and progression.
The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary group of neurologists, physicists, neuroradiologists and neurophysiologists with experience in functional and structural imaging of patients with movement disorders. The clinic is staffed by 4 movement disorders neurologists. The imaging infrastructure includes two 3T Siemens Tim Trio Scanners.

The Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) Laboratory at McLean Hospital, a Teaching Affiliate of Harvard Medical School, has a post-doctoral fellowship position open immediately in functional and structural neuroimaging analysis. Our lab is currently funded to conduct several studies using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), voxel-based morphometry (VBM), and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in healthy normal volunteers and individuals with traumatic brain injury. We are seeking a candidate with an exceptional background in data analysis and signal processing to lead these analysis efforts. A Ph.D. in neuroimaging, neuroscience, and/or related field is required. *Background*: In recent years, new ways to investigate EEG recordings
have emerged. In particular, Event Related Spectral Perturbations (ERSP)
and Inter-Trial phase Coherence (ITC) have become the standard to
characterize the time-frequency decompositions of signals from
electrodes or components (e.g. from independent component analysis). We
have a position available for a post-doctoral researcher to assist in
the development of new statistical methods for ERSP and ITC analyses of
EEG data. The job will consist in implementing and validating multiple

KIND is a competence center for research, development and education within the area of developmental psychopathology. The center is established in collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm County Council, and aims at improving clinical practice, generating basic research, and spreading new knowledge to stakeholders. The Roots of Autism Twin Study Sweden (RATSS) is a research project within KIND, focusing on monozygotic twins being discordant for autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders, e.g. ADHD. Twins are examined on multiple levels, among them functional and structural neuroimaging using MRI. Scanning is performed in the Karolinska Institutet MR Research Center, using a 3 Tesla MR scanner (GE MR750). The project is running since the late Summer 2011 and more than 40 pairs have been included.
*** Duties
As a post-doc, you will be mainly responsible for the acquisition and analyses of the multimodal neuroimaging data. This includes DTI, resting-state fMRI and structural T1, to be combined according to a brain connectome approach. This work will be done in close collaboration with the department of Clinical Neuroscience. The position also includes several other responsibilities, e.g. coordination of the neuroimaging works at KIND, involvement in international collaborations, administrative tasks, grant application and article writing.
