It offers a global approach to education and research, with a focus on Asian perspectives and expertise.Computation functional anatomy laboratory at NUS (http://www.bioeng.nus.edu.sg/cfa) focuses on mathematical modeling of anatomy and function of the brain from medical images. We are looking for candidate who is interested in the development of fundamental mathematical tools for handling HARDI data and new data-driven biological discoveries brought about by such novel modeling and analysis methods, that are otherwise unattainable in vivo. Our group is currently conducting large studies on normal aging and dementia that include HARDI, resting state fMRI, structural T1 data, and genetic data. Postdoc position: fMRI of number processing at NeuroSpin We are looking for a bright and motivated postdoc to join a research project related to the representation of number in the human brain which will use high-field / high-resolution functional imaging (at 7 Tesla). This position will be available within the INSERM Cognitive Neuroimaging Unit (www.unicog.org <http://www.unicog.org/>, directed by Stanislas Dehaene), situated at the NeuroSpin Center in the greater Paris area. The position is funded for 2 years within a 4-year project financed by the French National Research Agency (PI Evelyn Eger). The ideal candidate will come from a background of visual neuroscience, potentially including the processing of number. Previous experience in functional imaging is required (and would ideally include multivariate decoding and/or surface-based analysis), and good programming skills in either matlab or python will be a strong plus. Good communication skills in English (oral and written) are necessary. The intended starting date for the position is around July or September 2015. Human Neuroscience and Visual Cognition Lab Department of Psychology Wright State University A post-doc position is now available at the newly established Human Neuroscience and Visual Cognition Lab at the Department of Psychology, Wright State University. The lab is headed by Dr. Assaf Harel and investigates high-level vision and its neural substrates. We are particularly interested in how visual recognition occurs in real-world settings and adopt a neuroergonomic approach to study the applied aspects of high-level vision. For this purpose, we employ a diversity of cognitive neuroscience methods, including fMRI, EEG, psychophysics, and eye tracking. Research topics include, but are not limited to the following areas: visual expertise, object and scene recognition, categorization and perceptual learning. The position is fully funded for two years. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Neurobiology, Computer Science, or any other related discipline by the start date of the position. Strong background and familiarity with fMRI or EEG research is required. Experience in computer programming, especially with Matlab is highly encouraged and will be considered a strong advantage.
