YNiC computing facilities unavailable Thursday 29/01/2026 17:00-22:00

Hi All, Due to maintenance of the Biocentre networking, *there will be limited connectivity between YNiC and the outside world on Thursday evening (29/01/2026 17:00-22:00). *This will affect access to the remote desktops, and internet access for all computers (including those using wifi) at the centre. Apologies for the short notice, we are working with UoY Estates to make sure this kind of work is scheduled more carefully in future. If you anticipate this causing undue disruption to your work, please get in touch via support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk . Hello, Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful break and are feeling energised for the year ahead. *🖥️ System Maintenance* The YNiC system underwent some upgrades over the break. Thank you for your patience while we resolved some unexpected issues. As always, if you encounter any issues using YNiC systems, please let us know via the usual route: support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk. *🗓️ **YNiC User Inductions* If you are aware of any new students/staff that will require access to YNiC and/or an IT account, they must attend a YNiC user induction. This includes students who wish to attend the Data Analysis in Neuroimaging Course starting this semester. The next monthly induction will be on *Tuesday the 3rd of February, at 10:00am*. Please ask them to contact support@ynic .york.ac.uk to sign up. *🗓️ **Level 0 operator training* *MRI* Level 0 Training: *Tuesday the 3rd of February 13:00-15:00.* *MEG* Level 0 Training:* Wednesday the 4th of February, 13:00-15:00.* Please note that users requesting Level 0 training should be a PhD, RA/Postdoc, or staff, and should already have a project proposal submitted to YNiC. Please email support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk if you have any questions or wish to book on to this session. Please note that sessions are limited to 4 trainees, which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. 🧠 *Call for Speakers* We're currently recruiting speakers for our YNiC seminars.
