Please see information below regarding user inductions, operator training
and our upcoming YNiC seminar.
*YNiC User Inductions*
If you are aware of any new students/staff that will require access to YNiC
and/or an IT account, they must attend a YNiC user induction.* Our next
induction will be tomorrow, Wednesday the 27th of April, at 10:00.* Please
ask them to contact support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk to sign up.
*Level 0 operator training:*
The* next L0 training session will be held on Tuesday the 7th of June,
13:00-15:00*. Please note that users requesting Level 0 training should be
a PhD, RA/Postdoc, or staff, and should already have a project proposal
submitted to YNiC. Please email support(a)ynic.york.ac.uk if you have any
questions or wish to book on to this session. *Please note that sessions
are limited to 4 trainees, which will be allocated on a first-come
first-served basis. Training must be booked at least a week before the
session date, in order to reserve the scanner booking.*
*YNiC Seminar*
The next YNiC Seminar will be held on *Thursday the 5th of May at 4pm *both
in YNiC and via Zoom. We have a presentation from *Dr Theodoros
Karapanagiotidis*, with a talk titled "*Measuring human conscious
perception with MEG*". For those attending in person, refreshments will be

As mentioned in the YNiC Weekly email, we'll be taking the computer
systems offline on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th for essential systems
maintenance.
All YNiC related systems will be unavailable including:
* Cluster
* YNiC Discuss
* Remote Desktops
* VPN

Hi Everyone,
Please see below for information regarding a new schedule for fire alarm
testing at YNiC, a
planned YNiC closure, and our regularly scheduled training sessions.
*YNiC Closure*
We have a closure scheduled for the *11th to the 15th of April.* The
scanners will not be available during this time and we will not be
providing user support. Our main IT systems will be unavailable on the 11th
and 12th of April, which will include access to the VPN, the remote desktop
and the cluster.
*Fire Alarm testing*
Please note that fire alarms in YNiC will now be tested on *Thursday
mornings 08:30-10:00* please consider the scheduling of noise sensitive
studies accordingly.
*YNiC Seminar*
The next YNiC seminar will be on *Thursday the 7th April at 4pm *both in
